How a Video Poker Machine Works

A video poker machine, whether it is a physical one at a casino or a virtual one at an online casino, will have many parts to it to watch for. The way how this works is something important to check out in that these parts are ones that will be used for all video poker games.

  • The bet button is something that is very important to a video poker machine. What happens with this button is that it is used to help with figuring out how many credits are going to be used in a game. When the player bets more credits on a game that person will be spending more on it but the payouts that will be involved will be higher in value. In many cases the amount of money that was bet on a game will repeat for future games unless the player says otherwise.
  • The deal button is the next thing to see. This is the button that is used to help with telling the video poker machine that the player is ready to play a game of video poker. The money that was going to be bet on the game will be finalized. This button will also be used after a player chooses certain cards to discard in a game.
  • The hold card buttons are used to help with determining which cards a player will want to hold onto after getting a first hand. The button can be clicked to select or deselect certain cards. After a player figures out which cards to hold the player can select the deal button to replace unwanted cards with new ones.
  • The payout table of a video poker machine is important to see as well. This table, which is listed on the top part of the screen, lists the payouts for all winning hands. Payouts that relate to hands that have certain amounts of money bet on them will be listed as well with the low stakes bets being on the left side and the high stakes ones on the right.
  • The cash out button is the last thing to see. This is used in that the player will have specified that the person is leaving the game and will take the remaining credits from a game from the video poker machine. This value can be higher or lower than what a person came into the game with depending on the success level that a player had.
